Bomb Threat Forces Greek Plane to Land in Munich

World | April 23, 2007, Monday // 00:00

An Olympic Airways plane flying from Athens to Strasbourg made an emergency landing at Munich airport in Germany on Monday following a bomb threat.

No one was hurt in the incident, which Greek officials said was most likely a hoax.

The plane carried 136 passengers, including 11 Greek Euro MPs, and his final destination was Brussels.

All passengers are being safely evacuated, Greek state television reported.

"I hope this is just a bad joke," Greek Foreign Ministry spokesman George Koumoutsakos told Greek state television. "It will soon be over, I hope."
