Prosecutors have appealed the court's decision to release the younger of two brother dubbed the Marguins, and place him under house arrest over his health problems.

Sofia City Court decided last Thursday to release Nikolay Marinov, months after his older brother Krassimir was also placed on house arrest on account of his ailing health.

Experts said Nikolay Marinov had several epilepsy seizures during his stay behind bars, which were caused by the poor conditions. Prosecutors fear that now that he is out of jail, the young Marguin could influence witnesses.

The two brothers, Svetlin Karageorgiev, Ivo Karageorgiev, Vesselon Toshev, Bisser Iliev and Stefan Rangelov are accused of plotting the murdersof businessman Nikola Damyanov, reserve general Lyuben Gotsev and late underworld boss Ivan Todorov nicknamed Doktora.

At the end of last year the elder Krassimir Marinov was released under home arrest because of his deteriorating health. At the beginning of February he successfully underwent a hernia surgery at the Ivan Rilski hospital in Sofia.
