A young Greek national was seriously injured after three terracotta slates broke off a building in downtown Sofia and fell on his head on Wednesday.

The newly constructed residential building is situated on the central Gladstone Street.

The boy has been immediately hospitalised. His life is not in danger, doctors reported.

The ambulance arrived after more than 15 minutes, a witness reported.

The region has been cordoned off by the police.
