Fire Engulfs Lyulin Mountain Near Sofia

Crime | April 17, 2007, Tuesday // 00:00

A large fire has been reported on the territory of Sofia's Lyulin Mountain.

The flames erupted near the village of Dragichevo in the Pernik Region.

Blazes have reduced a lot of dried grass to ashes and are heading towards Sofia's residential district of Knyazhevo. Fire fighters say the fire has been localized and they have stopped it from reaching added wood areas.

Three fire-crews from Pernik and several fire-trucks from Sofia are at the site. People from the villages of Dragichevo and Golyamo Buchino are helping to put out the flames.

This is the second large fire in Lyulin in just a month.
