Levski Sofia manager Stanimir Stoilov shot down on Monday the rumours that he agreed to take over as manager of the Bulgarian national football team on a caretaker basis for the two games against Belarus in June.

"I want to concentrate on my job at Levski. My goal is to win the title and I am only thinking about the next game against Slavia," Stoilov told Radio Gong.

National team manager Hristo Stoitchkov resigned last week after a scoreless home draw with Albania in March put a serious dent in Bulgaria's hopes to qualify for the European Championship in 2008.

"The Bulgarian Football Union should first talk to the Levski officials," added Stoilov.

Stoilov, whose Levski team are favourites to retain the Bulgarian title and remain in the race for the domestic double, has been touted as one of the main contenders to replace Stoitchkov at the helm of the national side.

Media reports also claimed Felix Magath and former CSKA Sofia manager Miodrag Jesic as potential candidates for the job.

Stoitchkov's predecessor on the job, Plamen Markov, who took the team to the European Championship in 2004, is also currently unemployed.
