Huge Lines Mark Deadline for Tax Reports in Sofia

Hundreds of Bulgarians have queued up in front of the National Revenues Agency office in Sofia, for Monday is the last possible day for handing in tax statements.

Bulgarians usually leave such things for the last minute, Agency officials complain and urge citizens to post their statements or submit them online.

The Agency's Service Direction head Boryana Georgieva told Darik News that if there are people waiting in line after the official end of the workday, her employees will continue working after hours until there are people to service.

Those who don't submit their statements in time will be fined by up to BGN 500. If they have reported wrongful information, the fine can go up to BGN 1,000.
