The leader of the biggest nationalist party slammed the state for clumsily fumbling with the case of the five jailed nurses in Libya.
"I believe Bulgaria should have boycotted Libya as a trade partner. More than that, Bulgaria should have detained five Libyans as a reciprocal measure," Volen Siderov commented as he registered his party's list for the MEP elections.
He stressed he half approves, half disapproves of the campaign to nominate the medics for MEPs as it has been well developed "half-way".
Siderov defended the decision Slavi Binev, a controversial figure in Bulgaria's restaurateur business who recently dropped a bomb by getting blessed as an archon, to run for MEP on the nationalists ticket.
"Slavi Binev proved his abilities as a sportsman, who made Europeans stand up while listening the Bulgarian anthem."
Polls show Binev, owner of nightclubs in the capital, enjoys a big chance to make his way to the European Parliament, featuring as high as the third spot on the ticket of Ataka party.
The nationalists' ticket will be led by scandalous MEP and stepson of Ataka leader Dimitar Stoyanov, followed by no other than his girlfriend Denitsa Gadzheva.
