Bianca Jagger Calls for Libya-Jailed Bulgarian Nurses' Release

Bianca Jagger pays the visit to Bulgaria on the invitation of Standart Newspaper, bTV and Darik Radio, who are the organizers of the campaign.
"I came here to appeal to the EU, the Council of Europe and all the people in the world not to wait for the outcome of this case in silence," Bianca Jagger said.
After her arrival, Bianca first went to the Vassil Levski stadium to greet the footballers from Bulgaria's two rival teams Levski and CSKA during their derby, which also went under the "You are not alone" motto.
In the framework of her visit, Bianca Jagger will also meet with Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov and Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov.
The 62-year-old lady is one of the most ardent fighters for human rights in the world and she is also a leading figure in Amnesty International. She devoted her life to the cause of death penalty's abolition.
The leader of the World Coalition against the death penalty Michel Taube arrived together with Mrs. Jagger.
Prayers for the medics' release will be said in all Bulgarian churches in the first minutes of Easter, following the initiative of Standart Newspaper, bTV and Darik Radio.
Special services for the nurses' freedom will be hold in several Bulgarian monasteries.
The Jerusalem's Patriarch will also hold a divine service, dedicated to the five Bulgarians in Libya.
An icon of Saint Ivan Rilski that will be sanctified in the chapel on the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem by the clergymen, who will bring the Holy Fire to Bulgaria, is to be sent to the nurses in Judeida prison.
