Bulgaria's M-Tel mobile operator handed out 444 prizes to mark its 4,444,444th subscriber.

Prizes, including cell phones, were handed in four main crossroads in Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv and Burgas. Traffic at the four crossroads was halted at 4:44 in the afternoon for four minutes and forty-four seconds.

M-Tel prized drivers with cell phones, and passers-by received t-shirts, hats and other awards.

The operator has prepared other surprises for its future subscribers who sign contracts in April.
