Close to four thousand Bulgarians voted in an impromptu "election", picking Bulgaria's Labour Minister Emilia Maslarova as the country's biggest fraud on April Fools' Day.
Youth Initiatives 2004, a Bulgarian non-government organization, asked passers-by in Sofia, Plovdiv and Stara Zagora "Who is Bulgaria's biggest liar?"
Socialist Maslarova won ahead of President Georgi Parvanov, while former Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg.
Other notable "liars" include Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev, the Socialist Party, the manager of the Bulgarian national football team Hristo Stoitchkov and Santa Clause.
