Bulgarian Jew Leader Elected Ethnic Affairs Council's Deputy

The leader of the Bulgarian Jews organization Emil Kalo was elected Wednesday a deputy chairman of the National Council for Ethnic and Demographic Affairs Collaboration.

According to the newly adopted body's regulations his mandate will continue for one year.

Emil Kalo was chosen for the post among six other runners.

The council's Chairwoman is the Vice Prime Minister Emel Etem.

The second deputy chairman, who was appointed by the Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev, is the lawyer Miroslav Popov.

On the first Wednesday session of the council the members discussed the establishing of seven work groups, which will tackle with the problems, connected to the social policy, education, health care, culture, etc.
