Bulgarian Municipality Sued for Cutting Mall Space Tender

Business | March 21, 2007, Wednesday // 00:00

Bulgarian company Agrosun is suing Stara Zagora Municipality for cutting short the tender for a land parcel for a mall in the city.

Agrosun, one of the bidders in the tender, explained in a press release that they had been waiting over a year for a decision on the winning company, when the municipality suddenly called off the tender. The company has appealed the decision in the local Administrative Court and the hearing is set for the end of April.

Still, the municipal council has decided to start a new bidding for the land, "contrary to all principles of law and logic," as Agrosun commented. They stated that they would alert the prosecutor's office of the municipality's illegal schemes.
