Bulgaria's northwestern city of Montana has registered winds blowing at 20 meters per second, Darik News reported.

Local meteorologists say the wind is from the southwest and temperatures are quickly dropping.

Bulgaria's western parts will be lashed by hurricane winds over the next few days, the Disaster Management Ministry has warned. Some even expect snowfalls on Wednesday.

Mercury in Montana crept up to a record high on Monday, reaching 22 degrees Celsius - the highest temperature ever measured on that day in the city.
