The number of people been killed at the Monday methane gas explosion in a Siberian coal mine has gone up to 81, reports say.

Death toll may very well increase, because some 30 are still missing, among them a British citizen, who is a representative of the company that produced the safety system in the mine. Experts were inspecting the mine's safety when the explosion took place.

Rescue services have already managed to get 92 people to safety, but there were 200 people in the mine at about 270 meters beneath ground level at the time of explosion.
