UN Officials Discuss Bulgarian Nurses Release in Sofia
Politics | March 12, 2007, MondayThe leaders of the UN organization, which has taken up with the immediate release of the Bulgarian nurses, death-sentenced in Libya, is to arrive for an official visit to Bulgaria on Monday.
The chairman of Nations' Communities for Peace Alber Konan Koffi, its secretary general as well as the world famous criminal lawyer Gilbert Collar are also to join the conference, which is to take place in Sofia.
Later in the day, the officials will meet nurses' families and representatives of Bulgarian institutions, which are bound up with the case.
"We are sure that by the joint efforts of Bulgarian and Libyan peoples will result in releasing the five nurses and the Palestinian doctror," Mr. Alber Konan Koffi said.
He added that the organization follows the trial closely and assured that the lack of statements on the problem does not mean that nothing is being done about its solving.
