Politics | March 8, 2007, Thursday // 00:00

Two trucks loaded with Sofia garbage have already arrived at the village of Tsalapitsa, where a dump site will store the capital's waste.

There were no protesters to stop the trucks and the garbage made it safely to the dump, Darik News reported.

Tsalapitsa Mayor Jordan Kotev and the municipal mayor Jordan Shishkov were both at the site to make sure everything goes smoothly.

A total of 280,000 tons of Sofia's waste have to be transported to Tsalapitsa but the garbage trucks will start making regular rounds no earlier than three weeks from now, sources from the municipality shared.

Thursday was the last of three trial rounds of sending small quantities of garbage to Tsalapitsa to see how the deposing technology works.
