Four athletes will represent Bulgaria at the World Swimming Championships in Melbourne later this month, Darik News reported on Tuesday.
Long-distance specialist Petar Stoychev is credited with the best chance to appear in a final, in the marathon 25-kilometres race.
The other three swimmers who have qualified to appear in the competition are Tihomir Ivanchev, Georgi Palazov and Mihail Aleksandrov.
"We are optimistic. I hope we can achieve our goals despite all the problems we have had during the training stage," the head of Bulgaria's swimming federation Yuli Kyulev said.
This year's World Swimming Championships will be held in Melbourne between March 17 and April 1.
