High Voltage Kills 2 Cable Thieves in Bulgaria

Two Bulgarians died Thursday while trying to steal electricity cables near the town of Sredets, Darik News reported.

Assen Manolov, 21, and Yosko Marinov, 23, both form the seaside city Burgas managed to cut the wires between three electricity poles when they were struck dead by the high voltage.

Police later ascertained the two had been part of a crime group of 11 men from Burgas.

The electricity provider for the region, EVN Company, has already repaired the damages.

Police are now investigating the case.
