Bulgaria's Razgrad city regional court sentenced to 30 years imprisonment the killer of the ex-head of the state game breeding station Seslav, Alexander Makedonski.
The murderer is his business partner Radoslav Penev.
This is the first case in 20 years in the Razgrad court that has six qualifying elements, prosecutor Tihomir Todorov commented in his closing speech.
Makedonski's body was found buried in the woods near the Ravno village in June 2006.
The 34-year-old victim's murder was committed with extreme cruelty, with a mercenary purpose, it is premeditated, in a moment when the victim was helpless, the murder is of an official and there are conditions for recidivism.
The brother of the victim, Diyan Makedonski, said it is a precedent that the prosecution demanded lesser sentence than the court issued. The killer Penev will also have to pay to Diyan BGN 120,000 blood money.
During the final hearing Penev insisted he is innocent. He may appeal the sentence in the seaside Varna Court of Appeals.
