The Turkish ethnic party in Bulgaria Movement for Rights and Freedoms will refer the newly adopted law for MEP voting to the country's Constitutional Court.

The decision was taken at a press conference on Tuesday.

The Movement for Rights and Freedoms will demand an explanatory decision to be made by the Court.

That could happen after voting for MEPs is already finished, the party announced after a meeting between its leadership and the parliamentary group.

"We will not cause a delay in the whole process," the deputy chairman Lyutvi Mestan said.

The movement underlined also that putting a veto on the law is president's right but not his obligation and they are not going to insist on that.

The law, allowing votes only by people, who have lived in a EU country member in the three months prior to the vote, provoked serious arguments in the Parliament. The Turkish ethnic party even boycotted the plenary sessions for two days.

The newly adopted law stirred harsh disagreement in the three-way coalition, which threatens to lead to its falling apart.
