BusinessWeek Bulgaria celebrated its first birthday with an annual meeting of the heads of the 100 biggest companies in the country on Friday.

Economy and Energy Minister Rumen Ovcharov and State Administration Minister Nikolay Vassilev greeted the magazine and its guests on behalf of the government.

"The fact that BusinessWeek now comes out in Bulgarian is a clear indication on the development of local businesses in the last years," Ovcharov said. He thanked the magazine's team for the objectivity and professionalism they have showed in their reports.

BusinessWeek's European regional editor Jack Ewing said he was happy that the magazine was doing so well in Bulgaria. The country generates more and more business news and I am sure that this tendency will go up, especially since the EU accession.
