The concert in support of the death sentenced five Bulgarian nurses and Palestinian doctor started in front of Sofia Cathedral St Alexander Nevski.

The concert opened with telling the tragic story of the medics. Hosts of the event reminded to the thousands of people that the death sentence was confirmed on December 19, 2006, days before Christmas.

Then on the stage appeared six children from different religions, who said a prayer, specially prepared for the occasion.

The prayer was followed by a direct phone connection with one of the nurses' husband, doctor Zdravko Georgiev, who is now on a visit to the Judeyda prison.

He once again told to the 22,000 people on the square how he, the nurses and the Palestinian were tortured, beaten with sticks, cables, bitten by bugs and dogs and finally subjected to torture with electricity.

Then Bulgarian artist appeared on stage to sing the song "You are not alone", written specially for marking the eight anniversary of the imprisonment of the medics.
