The murderers of 28-year-old Bulgarian drug dealer Stefan Kudev have been left behind bars, despite their lawyers' plea for a release on bail.

Kudev's burnt body was found in a torched car in Sofia's district of Lyulin early on Friday, but police found out he had been killed first.

The murderers - three drug addicts who were all Kudev's clients, were apprehended soon afterwards. Police used security tapes from a gas station that showed Tihomir Matev, Dimitar Batsanov and Racho Anguelov as they were buying gasoline in a bottle, to identify them.

The court decided to leave the three in custody despite their clear records so far.
