Bulgaria Strips 160 Aircrafts of Flight Certificates

Bulgaria's national aviation administration announced it took away the flight certificates of 160 planes and helicopters on Monday.

The aircrafts will not be allowed to fly, as they do not meet the European Commission's safety standards.

The measures will apply to the cargo and farming An-12 and An-24 aircrafts. They will not be certified, which means they will not be allowed to service flights within the EU, administration's director Zahari Alexiev said.

Most of these aircrafts were manufactured in the former Soviet Union and are already obsolete, he added.

None of the air carriers will be affected by this decision.
