Reforms in Bulgaria's healthcare system have started working in full motion in 2006, Deputy Health Minister Valeri Tzekov said Monday at a discussion on the problems of the country's healthcare.

The financing from the country's health insurance fund is the main reason for the now working reforms, but the Ministry has to explain its actions to the people, Tzekov added.

There is chaos in Bulgaria's health care system, but it is caused by the poorly written laws, representatives of the Bulgarian Doctor's Union claimed at the discussion.

Many Bulgarian nurses get payment, which is lower than the minimum wage in the country, Minister Tzekov also said.
