The Bulgarian Health Fund will cover the hospital care of another 19 diseases in 2007 to bring their total number to 298.

The health fund presented Sunday the general terms and conditions to sign contracts with providers of medical and dental service this year.

Doctors working in areas of "unfavorable" conditions will receive additional financial incentives to remain and continue their medical practice.

Prices of prophylactic medical examinations for both children and adults will be more expensive in 2007, the health fund managers said, the increase standing at about 20%.

The press conference on Sunday, though much delayed, will put an end to an awkward situation of uncertainty reigning in Bulgarian hospitals and medical establishments, because doctors had not signed contracts with the fund to cover their expenses.
