Bulgarian Poisoned after Drinking Beer
Crime | February 1, 2007, ThursdayThe 30-year-old man ordered a pint of the ale in a local pub and after opening the bottle a strong acetone smell hit him in the face.
He drank a third of the bottle's contents despite the odd odour and felt a burning pain down his throat and gullet.
He was rushed to the nearest hospital and the bottle was given to the police for an expertise.
After the chemical analysis, specialist found at the bottle's bottom traces of an acetone-containing product.
Police are now investigation the case. If the Zagorka brewery is found guilty of not washing the re-used bottles properly, its owners might face up to five years in prison.
