Bulgarian Suffers 40% Burns in Rakia-Brewing Incident

A woman has suffered 40% burns to her body after a rakia-brewing related incident.

The 29-year-old was helping her husband distill the high-concentration drink, when she slipped and fell in a cauldron, full of boiling marc.

She was taken to Sofia's Pirogov emergency institute.

The incident took place in the village of Kapatovo in the southwest of the country.
