Car Sales in Bulgaria Enjoy 30% Boom in 2006
Business | January 12, 2007, FridaySales of new cars in Bulgaria lived through a consistent boom in 2006, data released by the country's car importers union showed.
Bulgarian car dealers sold 45,300 new cars in 2006, up 27.5% year-on-year basis, the union announced this week.
Peugeot topped the list of new car sales with a total of 4628 automobiles sold in 2006. Runner up is Toyota with 4204 and Ford with 3840 cars sold the previous year.
New truck sales almost doubled to 2,440 units with Italy's Iveco topping the list with 824 trucks sold, up 74.6% on the year.
Bus sales dropped by 11.3% to 235 vehicles, including 81 manufactured by Isuzu.
