Every 5th Bulgarian Child Gets Sex Proposals on the Internet

Every one in five children in Bulgaria aged up to 16 receives sex proposals over the Internet, Bulgarian National Consumer Association said.

Over 426 million websites offer information about sex. The Bulgarian websites focused on that topic amount to 1 million. The Internet space allows for practically everything to be said, ranging from baiting underaged to terrorist appeals, Mihail Shishkov of the association said.

Of course we shouldn't forget the "materials" children themselves produce, he added.

The consequences from surfing the net are unpredictable. Parents should exert their control on their children's activities. There are software programmes that can trace the access to certain websites, Shishkov said.
