Bulgaria's Police Uncovers Stolen Cars Shed
Crime | October 24, 2006, TuesdayThe discovery was made after police were tipped by an assaulted Turkish truck driver. A group of men attacked him and forced him into getting into a vehicle, then drove him to an unidentified place and handcuffed him.
The driver was then thrown on a bare lawn and later transported to the outskirts of the Bulgarian town of Slivnitsa where he was left handcuffed and helpless. He was found by a citizen, who called the police.
The police found the abandoned truck nearby but its cargo was missing.
The police initiated an investigation, which resulted in uncovering a shed, which contained three stolen vehicles, the cargo of the Turkish truck as well as other illegal goods, and instruments for breaking into cars.
It was discovered that the shed was rented with a fake ID, stolen in February 2006.
