Bomb Tears through Sofia Residential Building

Crime | October 24, 2006, Tuesday // 00:00

A bomb ripped through in a Sofia residential building late on Monday, badly damaging it.

Experts believe the explosive was planted in between the floors at block 121 in Obelya district. All the windows were broken and five apartments were nearly wiped out.

People, living there, suspect a neighbour - Emil Damyanov - to have been the target of the attack. Damyanov, 32, is a drug dealer.

Talking to bTV, however, Damyanov refuted the reports, saying that even if he were a drug dealer, he'd never tell the media, because this was something a person just didn't admit that easily.

"It's like saying 'I am a murderer'," the man added.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.
