A Serbian national under the alias of Zoran, who is wanted by Interpol on drug-trafficking charges, has been arrested in Bulgaria.
The 49-year-old Serb spent the past four years in Bulgaria, Darik News reported. In the meantime he continued establishing amphetamine producing laboratories in Turkey and Syria.
Zoran was charged with drug trafficking in his homeland in 2002 but managed to leave the country and establish in Bulgaria, where he started a scrap factory business under assumed identity.
He was arrested at a raid in his home in Sofia's Svoboda District where policemen found amphetamines stashed in a void in his living-room sofa. Police also raided the apartment of a 44-year-old Bulgarian who was the Serb's right-hand man in his illegal trafficking business.
