Moroccan Viciously Beats Up Bulgarian Girlfriend in Italy

Crime | October 11, 2006, Wednesday // 00:00

A Bulgarian woman was severely battered by her Moroccan boyfriend in Italy, media reported.

The 28-year-old man was reportedly enraged because the woman broke up with him and took a bottle and slashed her face in front of some hundred eyewitnesses at a train station in Porto Recanati.

He beat up his former girlfriend, breaking her legs and mutilating her face with the broken bottle. Eyewitnesses were close to lynching him, but police managed to subdue the crowd, taking in a few punches from the angry Moroccan as well.

The Bulgarian woman has been hospitalised and doctors expect her wounds to heal in about a month.

It later turned out that the man had a long police record and was even supposed to be extradited from Italy on account of his criminal past.
