Bulgaria's Traffic Police will launch massive road raids, checking whether cars have functional front- and taillights and wiper blades.

The checks will start in the end of October, bTV reported.

As of November 1, all drivers will be obliged to have their lights on during the day too. This will apply throughout winter seasons until March 1, and it is a new practice, aimed at bringing down the number of road accidents in the country.
