An anonymous bomb threat was on the way to spoil a public meeting of Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev in Varna, police said.
In a statement circulated Sunday, the Interior Ministry announced that the signal was received the previous evening while the premier visited Varna's Festival Complex.
Sergey Stanishev and the mayor of Varna, Kiril Yordanov, were immediately informed of the bomb threat, but decided not to concede to panic.
Despite the packed hall, the situation was assessed as not risky and meant only to provoke chaos and disruption, so the venue was not closed, police said.
There are no suspects, or arrested by far, the statement adds.
