6 Arabs, Serb Banned from Entering Bulgaria

Crime | September 26, 2006, Tuesday // 00:00

The National Security Office prohibited seven foreign citizens to enter Bulgaria. Six Arabs and a Serbian national are under a ban for the next ten years, officials said.

The names of the foreign citizens are not given. They are banned because they threaten national security by participating in trans-border criminal activities, mainly in drug trafficking.

According to data by the National Security Office, 69 foreign citizens, believed to be part of international mafia groups, had been expulsed from the country for the period June 2005 - September 2006.

Back in 2000 Bulgaria also banned the Israeli millionaire businessman Michael Chorny. He was expulsed from the country with an order by the chief National Security Office Ivan Chobanov.
