Romania to Legalize Prostitution

Romanian Parliament plans to legalize prostitution, in an attempt to fight human trafficking and sexual slavery. The country's legislation envisages a fine or three years in jail for prostitution. Still, when caught, most of the Romanian prostitutes are just forced to pay a fine. Human rights organizations see in the legalization a way to fight the spread of sexually transmitted illnesses and women trafficking but the Church explicitly opposes the idea.
