British Airways has cancelled Thursday's 2:35 p.m. flight from Sofia to London because of the anti-terrorism operation there, Darik News reported.

Meanwhile, Bulgaria's national flag carrier Bulgaria Air successfully carried out its morning flight to the British capital, at 7:45 a.m.

Bulgaria Air said Thursday that delays in its flight to the UK were possible, and asked passengers to be patient and respectful for the security measures.

On August 10, the Scotland Yard revealed they had crushed a terrorism plan to blow up UK planes headed for the US.

If realized, the plot would have caused a mass murder of dramatic size, the authorities believe.
