Doctors and patients at Sofia emergency hospital can sigh with relief now that the only scanner in Pirogov is brought into operations again thanks to donors.
Due to a breakdown the apparatus was out of order for a week, and during this time nearly 200 patients, who needed scanner examination, were directed to other hospitals.
The purchase of the X- ray tube, needed for the restoration of this higly effective in diagnostic and healing machine was estimated at BGN 200,000.
The repair of the expensive equipment was assisted by the first Bulgarian mobile operator MobilTel that donated BGN 150, 000. The rest of the amount was provided by lawyer Todor Batkov, became clear today during a demonstration of the renewed scanner.
