Israeli air strikes have killed at least 23 people in Southern Lebanon hours after Israel warned that the area would come under further heavy attack.
At least 16 died in the city of Tyre, while strikes on a border village killed at least seven, including five with Canadian and Lebanese citizenship, the BBC informed.
More than 120 Lebanese have died since clashes with Israel began on Wednesday.
Sunday saw a number of Israeli air strikes against Lebanese targets. Twelve Israeli civilians have been killed from Hezbollah rockets, including eight in Haifa on Sunday.
Iran's foreign ministry has denied Israeli allegations that it supplied missiles to Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, top European Union and United Nations officials have started arriving in Beirut for talks on the crisis.
Italy has even taken on the heavy burden to act as mediator in the conflict. In response, Israel said it would cease fire once its two captured soldiers are set free.
