Bulgaria will fulfil all of the tasks and the recommendations of the European Commission by the end of September.

This was announced by Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev after a meeting with the EU envoys to Bulgaria, hosted by Finland's ambassador Kauko Jamsen. "Bulgaria has made a considerable contribution for the stability of the Western Balkans and our membership we help to further improve it", Stanishev commented.

Stanishev assured the envoys that Bulgaria is actively working for its membership.

Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Ivaylo Kalfin and Euro-integration Minister Meglena Kuneva also attended the meeting.

Bulgaria hopes to join the bloc on January 1, 2007.
