French Director to Rename Bulgaria-Desecrating Porn
Politics | July 2, 2006, SundayThe director of a French porn movie, whose cover mocks Bulgaria, has vowed to rename it, startled by the wave of discontent throughout the country.
The "Little Bulgarian Sluts" (Petites Cochonnes Bulgares) will now be called "Little Bulgarian Rascals", (Petites Coquines Bulgares) director Christian Lavil has promised private Darik Radio.
Lavil admitted that he didn't expect such a fervent reaction from the Bulgarians, and that he plans to change his work style, so he doesn't offend other nations in the future.
Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry had informed the French embassy of the profaning of Bulgarian national symbols in the movie. President Georgi Parvanov, also expressed his shock from the ease with which national symbols are being desecrated.
The porn movie's cover features a woman perched on top of a yoghurt cup that has Bulgaria's newest coat of arms stamped on it. The woman's left foot rests on the crest, while her right foot is on the country's flag.
