Bulgaria Builds "Walk of Rock"

Ronnie James Dio, Deep Purple's Ian Gillen and many more from world rock are set to become a inseparable part of Bulgaria's Black Sea attractiveness.

Statues of the rock legends who have performed there will rise in a local "Walk of Rock," media said.

Understandably, the idea for the rock creation occurred in Kavarna. The small town on the northern coastline has become in recent years a hotspot for rock performances, and this summer will not be an exception.

Ian Gillen and Ronnie James Dio will be the first to have their statues rising in Kavarna's main park.

Artists in Sofia will create the rock sculptures for free, as a gift to the people of Kavarna, media say.
