New Therapy Defies Cancer in Bulgaria

A new cancer-healing method has already proven successful in Bulgaria, reports claim.
The revolutionary therapy directly attacks the tumors' blood vessels, thus preventing the forming of new ones. The Ministry of Health has approved the medicine used in this therapy, but the national Health Fund still hasn't added it to the list of free medications.
This new method is called "target therapy" because it attacks directly the nutritious environment of the tumors. It is especially effective in the initial stages of the disease, especially when combined with chemotherapy.
The medication has already been tested with patients in several clinical researches, Asen Dudov has said. Many experts believe that this treatment method is quite effective, some even say that it turns cancer into a chronic disease that can be controlled for quite a long time with the proper therapy.
However in order for more people to be able to resort to this new treatment, it has to be reimbursed for by the Health Fund. Currently it costs more than BGN 1,000, and few people can to afford it.
