Bulgarian-born Stanislav Ianevski, who gained worldwide popularity with his role in the latest Harry Potter movie, and the newly elected Miss Bulgaria attended a Sofia premiere on Monday.

The movie, titled 681 tells the story of Bulgaria through the ages, starting with the first Bulgarians who stepped on the Balkan Peninsula. It reaches through almost 1,300 years of history and wraps it up with the liberation from a five-centuries Ottoman rule.

Through subtitled images of historical and cultural monuments and selected musical pieces, the movie presents an interesting perspective on the Bulgarian past.

Producer Milko Golev and Director Yani Yanev have also used 3D animation to recreate jewels like Simeon I's throne room.

Former Miss Bulgaria and owner of Visages model agency Zheni Kalkandzhieva also attended the event.

Ianevski reached international stardom with his portrayal of Bulgarian Quidditch champ Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. In January he won the SNA annual "Personality of the Year" poll in the "Entertainment" section along with the country's President Georgi Parvanov in the "Politics" and World Chess Champ Vesselin Topalov in the "Sports".

17-year-old athletic mathematician Slavena Vutova became the new Miss Bulgaria 2006 just a couple of days ago.
