Bulgaria's Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev insisted on greater efficiency and real results in fight against crime.
Stanishev met on Thursday with the management of the Interior Ministry and voiced his concerns to Interior Minister Rumen Petkov, Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Ilia Iliev and the Secretary of the Security Council of the Council of Ministers, Petko Sertov.
The management of the Interior Ministry reported to the prime minister on the current criminal situation in the country and the measures taken by the ministry. The participants in the meeting discussed in detail the circumstances surrounding the killing of Ivan Todorov, dubbed Doktora, the progress in the investigation of the murder of the sisters in Pazardzhik, as well as the recent attack on the tax inspector, Plamen Georgiev.
Stanishev wants the Interior Ministry to mobilize all its efforts and resources in the combat against crime and especially against organized crime, coordinating its actions with other structures and agencies without showing off and making campaigns.
