Sofia is launching the construction of a new homeless dogs shelter in the Slatina district, mayor Boyko Borisov announced Monday. Borissov met with representatives of the "Help for Animals - South" foundation that will cover the building expenses. Over 5,00 members of the organization contributed funds for the new shelter. The foundation also has a castration center in the capital, where over 8,000 dogs have already been treated. The shelter will be started as soon as the municipality resigns its contract with the foundation. Sofia's municipality council has already approved the resigning.
