Bulgarian Drivers to Pay Speeding Tickets Online

Business | February 16, 2006, Thursday // 00:00

All drivers in Bulgaria will be able to pay the speeding tickets as well as all other fines they have been imposed by the Road police through the internet using their debit cards.

An extra module has been added to the system used for online tax and social security and payments that allows citizens pay the road fines without waiting in lines at the banks' offices, the National Revenues Agency (NRA) announced.

The people who wish to use the high-tech service first have to own a debit card and then declare that they want to use their card for internet payments. This could be done at the bank that issued the card or through an ATM of the same bank.

Afterwards the card has to be registered in the digital payment system ePay.bg and in NRA's website.
