Bulgaria's Radanova Triumphs with Olympic Silver

The medal for Bulgaria was that country's first of the Games.
The 27-year-old Bulgarian cemented her dominance in the women's 500 meters finishing second, after China's Meng Yang ended first late on Wednesday.
Wang is a rising star in the sport and is considered a successor to the legendary Yang Yang (A). She has won one gold and one silver medal in this event at world championships. She won four gold medals in the 2005-2006 World Cup season, and is ranked first in the world in this event.
Evgenia Radanova won silver and bronze medal from the games in Salt Lake City four years ago. She also holds a world record of 43.671 seconds.
The Bulgarian short tracker fought for the gold in her final series sandwiched by two Chinese rivals - Wang Meng and Fu Tianyu. Eventually, Fu was disqualified and Canada's Anouk Leblanc-Boucher grabbed the bronze medal at 500m.
Evgenia Radanova, born on 4 November 1977, is a student at Bulgaria's National Sports Academy.
Radanova has competed in three Olympics. She won the third place in the 1500m short-track event at the 19th Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City 2002 and holds the world record for the 500m short-track. The Bulgarian has won one gold medal and two silvers at world championships.
Radanova won two silver medals and one bronze in the 2005-2006 World Cup season, and is ranked second in the world in this event.
